The East End  Arts Council is proud to present a new exhibition opportunity at the Carriage House for Artist Solo Shows. The first solo artist will be Lisa Petker Mintz of Plainview, NY. The show will be on view May 2 thru May 20, 2008. 

A graduate of Parsons School of Design, Petker Mintz is a well learned artist who has exhibited in the New York City and the Long Island art scene for 20 years. Her work will also be on display at the New York Hall of Science 47-01 111th Street, Queens, NY . in the show Art Envisions Science May 17 thru July 13, 2008 and NAWA Gallery, 80 Fifth Avenue Suite 1405 New York, New York Spring into Summer show May 22 thru July 17, 2008.

The centerpieces of this exhibition are her large floral images. The dominating floras explode with color and vivacity. Her art explores botanical images which metamorphose into abstraction in which composition and color take over. The viewer’s eye moves continuously through the canvas invoking a visual dance. Color drives her to create and she employs rich, vibrant colors to attract the eye and delight the senses.

Riverhead, NY - As part of its mission to make space available to artists for exhibiting, the EEAC announces its first Carriage House Member Solo Show. Member artists may fill out an application to show in this new space (applications are available at www.eastendarts.org or by calling 631-727-0900). The first member artist to show is Lisa Petker Mintz of Plainview; her work will be on view from May 2 through May 20, 2008 in the multi-use room of the Carriage House on the EEAC grounds (133 Main Street, Riverhead).
